This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school, which means many of them come from low-income/poverty households. My students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. As their teacher, I try to provide them with as many positive experiences as I can. They are very active and love to be engaged in meaningful activities.
My students come to me every year eager to learn, and I try to provide a classroom environment that encourages mental growth, creativity, and imagination.
My Project
Every morning my students begin their day in STEM centers instead of doing traditional morning work. They learn to solve problems and build their thinking skills. It also helps to get their creative juices flowing. They are able to create paths and tunnels with the Create A Path magnetic set. They will be able to build houses and bridges with The Design and Build set. The Science Stations set will provide more variety in our STEM bucket activity choices. Working with the STEM activities in the morning helps to motivate my students to learn for the rest of the day.
