I love spending my days with my awesome 3rd graders! They walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at an environmental focus neighborhood school in Portland.

My Project
My group of students absolutely love meditating. I have noticed that taking time for mindfulness activities and lessons really shifts the energy in the classroom towards calm and relaxation. It's been neat seeing them grow in their mindfulness practice as they find their anchor breaths, notice and let go of distracting thoughts, and learn to give themselves the gift of truly being in the moment-- even if it's just for 120 seconds. These third graders have taught me a lot about drawing on these tools that live within us all, being patient with myself, being grounded and in my body, and the power of sharing your own journey. I look forward to seeing what else is in store for us for the rest of the year!
