My Students

My students are amazing and motivated. We are an inner-city creative arts magnet school in the heart of downtown. Every student in our school is introduced to many different paths of arts from sculpture to dance to theatre, creative writing, literary publishing, and music.

Our students are incredibly talented and focused.

We are diverse and dedicated. Our students are artistic and real. Arts are a very real part of our students' identities and purpose. Our students are, quite simply, amazing.

My Project

These mindfulness journals have been customized to make our classroom a kind and welcoming place from the moment the bell rings.

A kind classroom is an equitable classroom.

We want to start our year out with kindness, building relationships, not only teacher to student but student to student as well. Our classroom will not be one where students have to ask the names of their classmates, but one where students are standing up for one another, no matter where they come from, or what their abilities are.

We are here to learn and grow. We don't just tolerate, we befriend.
