Our students love hands-on learning that helps them engage with the world around them. They are not afraid to ask tough questions, take on challenging projects, and get their hands dirty while doing it! We are a Title I in-district charter school located in the heart of the historic Travis Heights neighborhood.
The diversity of our student community readies our children to be compassionate leaders of the future.
Our campus has the highest population of Afghan refugees in the District. Our campus celebrates our diversity with a Cultural Festival, Black History celebration, Dia de Los Muertos Parade, just to name a few. During these celebrations students and families get to highlight their culture and family history.
My Project
PreCovid, our community benefited from the beauty and serenity of our campus’s Mindfulness Garden. Teachers, students, and parents have teamed up to rejuvenate the campus gardens. Not only do projects such as this give students a deeper connection to and pride in their campus in the short-term, but they also have the opportunity to internalize the value of caring for and investing in their communities for life.
Our vision is to create a beautiful, serene place where students can enjoy nature and decompress from the stresses of learning.
We will create a mindfulness trail for students to have access to this experience, and envision planting beautiful vines, flowers, and shrubs.
