My Students

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, but one thing that brings them all together is their love for school and their passion for learning. They come to school anticipating those "ah ha" moments, and it's my job as their teacher to provide that for them. They are not only learning to become more knowledgeable, but they are learning to become well-rounded, productive members of their communities.

They are observers, scholars, listeners, communicators, and most importantly they are passionate about everything they do.

I believe the right environment can help elicit more knowledge, more thinking, and more learning. I come to school every day with an appreciation for their "want" for more!

My Project

Anxiety has become more prevalent with students at a younger age. Many students suffer from it daily. Many suffer from it situationally, like when it comes to taking tests. There are ways to help students cope, and one of the ways we have found success is through mindfulness and calm breathing.

The students at Alamo School would benefit from having a class set of yoga mats to practice their calm breath/mindfulness with.

It is my hope that with yoga mats, and the P.E. teachers instructions, students at Alamo will be better equipped to handle situations that may lead to anxieties.
