My co-teacher and I have the joy of teaching a group of students who are fun-loving and challenge-seeking. They love to have voices and roles within the classroom. Our class is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, talents, strengths, weaknesses, passions, interests, and struggles. We try to employ a variety of different styles of instruction and instructional delivery such as centers, small group work, and interactive notebooks.
Our students thrive when they are engaged by hands-on, relevant activities and are able to see their hard work come to fruition.
With two teachers in the classroom, we strive to reach each of our learners in the most tailored way possible.
My Project
Practicing mindfulness strategies to cope with life's daily and chronic stressors was a personal decision of mine as I was going through college. This choice led me to a place of ease, comfort, and understanding of how living in the present moment allows me to be the best version of myself possible. It's no secret that these practices can do the same for our children.
My students need and deserve a space that is comfortable, safe, and calm to learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Many of my students already face too much stress at home, so it is essential that they feel at ease in their classrooms. The padded floor chairs will give them a space to meditate, read, color, draw, or carry out any other calming activity they choose. The Energy Chime Three Tone Eastern Zenergy Chime Bell will also help me to manage my classroom better by signaling for students attention in a calm way rather than having hectic transitions. Having these materials in my classroom will support my efforts to make learning more accessible for my students.
