Help me give my students books to help them cope with their struggles of grief, and cultural and racial differences and some professional resources for me to better assist my students.
I love the diversity, curiosity, imagination, and energy of my 6 and 7 year old students! They inspire me every day to want to give them my best. Their wide range of needs and backgrounds can be a challenge, though, when trying to reach them in their personal circumstances.
As with many students living in the world today, they are confronted with difficult and stressful situations that no child should have to face.
Therefore, providing resources that they can connect to and use to alleviate some of the pain, confusion or disconnect they might be experiencing is invaluable.
My Project
Books have a way of not only educating people but also of opening doors to awareness and appreciation. Even more, books can bring healing as their messages resonate with the head and heart. My students struggle with so many difficulties in their families and the world.
By bringing uplifting, empowering, and compassionate messages through books into the classroom, my students will find peace, healing, and happiness in this often confusing and chaotic world.
When students are not burdened by pain, loneliness, or disconnect, they can open their minds up to learning which will lead to positive opportunities for their future.
