My students need healthy snacks to keep their minds sharp, water to stay hydrated and basic supplies (pens, pencils, highlighters) to ensure that they are prepared to participate in tutoring.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hi! We are a PAC Title I public high school in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. I am a Special Education and Science teacher. Many of my students are English Language Learners (ELLs) and/or Students with Disabilities (SWDs) who are working towards improving their reading, writing, speaking, science and math skills.
I teach a science course to help students improve upon some of the basic skills needed to meet the requirements of their high school diploma.
My students face many challenges outside of the classroom, as a PAC Title I school, financial resources are limited. Thank you for considering donating to my classroom. Your support contributes to our current needs and their future academic success!
My Project
Tutoring for my students will begin at 3:45 and continue until 5pm. For students who may not have come to school having had a healthy breakfast and may have skipped lunch that is a long day.
As a Title I school, many of our students cannot afford to carry enough snacks to make it through a 8am to 5:30pm day.
Your donation will help to provide enough healthy energy and hydration needed to keep my students minds sharp enough for tutoring to be of actual benefit. I am asking for water, fruit snacks, goldfish and granola bars for my students to snack on during tutoring. I am also requesting pens, pencils and highlighters to provide basic tools so that everyone is prepared to study.
