My Project

We are a public school located on the Marine Corps Base on Oahu, Hawaii and we serve the military exclusively. Students come and go on average every three years. For our resilient learners at our school, COVID has impacted learners by not allowing them to receive the physical and emotional tools they need in order to perform functional daily interactions and basic procedures and routines.

The requested resources will directly impact students by providing a quiet virtual learning space with headphones, working on functional skills with basic classroom supplies and a drying rack, learning to read with picture and phonics books and activities, developing emotion awareness with an emotions box, providing safe sensory input and output with tools and fidgets, developing functional conversation and peer interactions skills with games, a butterfly habitat to explore the coming season of spring, and stamps for rewards and incentives.
