My Students

Hello, Hola, xin chào, Hallå, سلام, Kamusta, Olá, ہیلو, and welcome to this Charles Schwab-inspired financial literacy project for energetic and enthusiastic students who represent five languages.

These loving children attend a high poverty, inland school in a state that is number one in prison spending and number forty nine in education spending.

Though we have neither counselors nor teachers for music, art, P.E., the library, or computers, our deserving students benefit from an attentive, caring staff, and a "village" of generous supporters. We hope you will join us.

My Project

With topics such as "Dollars and Cents," "Needs and Wants," and "Saving and Spending," BrainPOP Jr. educates young students in the basics of a complex topic--financial literacy--using simple language. In addition, it offers games and practice with recognizing and counting coins, making change, and equivalent values. With exposure and practice my students will strengthen their recognition of nickels and dimes while developing perseverance and the delay of gratification as they acquire skills in in problem solving.

Thank you for reading this proposal to develop financial literacy, and if funded, we will feel richly rewarded even if we don't become millionaires.
