My Students

I want my reluctant scholars to get motivated and envision a future that includes higher education and a fulfilling career. On my campus, we have a poverty rate of approximately 98%, and as studies show, poverty troubles even the best readers and "one in six children who are not reading proficiently in third grade do not graduate from high school on time, a rate four times greater than that for proficient readers".

My students have social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that often come along with learning and attention issues which can lead to serious consequences.

I would like to transform my classroom into a safe welcoming environment where children want to attend, learn, and read.

My Project

We have recently run out of wipes to wipe down our desks and chairs; as well as wipes to wipe down our hands after our breakfast in the classroom. Sometimes their hands are sticky or believe it or not their desks.

My third grade scholars can be a little clumsy taking their "finished" breakfast to the trash. so we tend to not only have our desks, chairs to clean up, we have to clean up the mess on the floor and at times their clothes. Cleaning supplies are always important to have a clean learning environment.
