My students are compassionate learners who have various areas of giftedness. They are labeled as "gifted and talented" but this is just a label. They are so much more! They strive to learn all they can so that they can become leaders in the community. Their interests vary but projects pull them together to meet a common goal. These 5th and 6th grade students are privileged to operate in an environment that allows them to explore, create and inspire those around them.
Our classroom is a project filled learning envirnment.
We have the flexibility to dream and conduct experiments and projects that challenge and inspire us.
This project is the next step for my students as they work to establish themselves as a 3D printing limb location with the organization e-NABLE. Students in both kindergarten and my gifted 5th-6th class will work together to establish a new location that can print 3D hands for people who need this service.
My students are combining their compassion for others with their passion for learning new things to bring this unique project to life.
Creativity, science, math and empathy all connect to make this a reality. Students will be able to use this filament on their new 3D printer to manufacture one of a kind limbs that individuals in the community can use in their every day life.
