My Students

My role of teacher is changing as the students build more confidence with each new project we tackle! I am becoming the facilitator and guide as they take the lead in solving problems and finding solutions.

My students have become STEM super fans!

They are showing interest beyond the initial activity, asking to come to my room more often, and are getting less afraid of failure.

They are beginning to trust the process and worry less about the outcome. If it didn't work, they want to figure out why. They are loving the focus on exploration over assessment.

My Project

Our Mighty Girls Club is dedicated to empowering young girls to value and believe in themselves. We aim to give these girls the knowledge and tools to gain confidence for their many gifts and talents.

When young girls read about women from the past who have done great things, it can inspire them to follow their dreams to make a difference as well.

I have chosen biographies of women who made major contributions to our world. They are from all walks of life and show the vast spectrum of the professional STEM world. As I teach career exploration, students can read about a wide variety of possible choices.
