This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are brilliant! The students I work with are English language learners. They are literally from everywhere. Our class is the definition of diverse. These students speak multiple languages with ease but struggle a bit with the reading and writing portion. They come to school every day eager to work hard and are excited to learn.

My Project

I found some really beat up but still readable copies of James Patterson's Middle School The Worst Years of My Life novel. I have enough for each student, so we are going to read it as a class. However, it would be really nice to have the audio book on CD as an option for some of our read aloud days.

Once we read the first book in the series, students will be interested in continuing.

So I am anxious to have the rest of the series on hand. I want to put a book in their hands the second they show interest.
