This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love to see my students achieve greatness. It's rewarding to see them desire to learn more and be accepting of different cultures through literature and through their peers. It is even more rewarding to see students invent new things and exercise their critical thinking skills through mathematics.
My students are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher.
They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers etc. They are our future and I want to give them a fair and great start to their long successful career.
My Project
My students need camcorders to record their presentations. Throughout the year, we work on public speaking, Math projects, and publishing parties. With society moving more to technology-based classrooms it is important for students to be able to incorporate technology into their daily learning.
“We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging because when students are engaged and they are interested, that's where learning takes place.”
My students will record their presentations and be able to provide thoughtful feedback to their peers. In addition, at the end of the school year, we will create a video to send home to parents of our different projects to see how we have grown throughout the year.
