My students love science class and are eager to read and discuss current events relating to scientific studies. With little amount of resources this does not leave us with much. I would love to be able to share a monthly subscription with the students, and a place to display messages to the class.
A typical day with my students includes hands-on centers, projects, independent work, and partner work.
My students love to participate in active discussions and are very involved with their learning. A magnetic chart board would help with the organization in my classroom. Students would be able to clearly see what their daily objectives and tasks are, which would help them take responsibility and be more independent in their learning. The magnetic folders would be used to hold their assignments for the same purpose of instilling responsibility and independence in learning. The Scholastic magazines would provide and exciting activity for students to look forward to monthly. They would be able to read and discuss current events taking place in the science world, written by and about real scientists which I know they would absolutely love!
My Project
My students will use the chart board and magnetic folders to access that days materials, see the daily objectives, homework, and classroom reminders. Students will use the Scholastic science magazine subscription to improve non-fiction reading and comprehension. Students would love be able to read and discuss current event articles about real scientists.
The chart board and magnetic folders will help create a more organized, well run classroom where students are able to clearly see assignments, daily tasks and identify objectives.
Scholastic magazines will create a fun monthly science activity for students to look forward to while improving upon their reading and comprehension.
