My small middle school girls' group will need four copies each of The Middle School Survival Guide: How to Survive from the Day Elementary School Ends until the Second High School Begins, Girls Against Girls: Why We Are Mean to Each Other, Girls: What's So Bad About Being Good? and one copy each of Coping with Cliques, A Smart Girl's Guide to Sticky Situations.

The School Counselor and Family Support Worker have many referrals every year for middle school girls having trouble with relationships, transitioning to their role as a high school student, dealing with peer pressure, and respecting each other for their unique traits. The School Counselor and Family Support Worker would like to form groups of 4 girls to address such issues. This would be an every other week group that would help enhance self-esteem and teach students skills to become respectful students within our school and community. This would focus on students in 7-12th grade.

The School Counselor and Family Support Worker do not have a budget and have a library with limited books. We spend hours making up our own lesson plans and would like books that are research based and have lessons already done. We are desperately in need of books and workbooks for our middle school girl’s group. We have checked out some of the books we are requesting, but are only able to get one copy for a limited amount of time.

We need four copies each of The Middle School Survival Guide: How to Survive from the Day Elementary School Ends until the Second High School Begins, Girls Against Girls: Why We Are Mean to Each Other, Girls: What's So Bad About Being Good? and one copy each of Coping with Cliques, A Smart Girl's Guide to Sticky Situations. We would like students to be able to bring books home with them as homework. This would enhance our impact on our middle school girl’s population. Students are not able to read our books outside of our room due to our lack of book copies.

You will make it possible to have larger group sizes and allow the School Counselor and Family Support Worker to reach out to more students. This will help identify girls in need and help decrease bullying, cyber-bullying, fights, and many other obstacles and struggles middle school girls face each day. Any financial help you are able to give us is much appreciated!
