We have an extremely large school that feels like a family. We find the small communities within the large student body. Our school is in a unique area which if country but close to everything. Our school is the largest middle school in our county.
They love working together to explore world history.
My students are hard workers. Students in my classes are from all walks of life. My classes offer opportunities for students to encourage each other. I really enjoy how my students work hard to make everyone feel welcome.
We currently have a couple of flexible seating options such as lowered tables for floor seating or Adirondack chairs. Students have enjoyed choosing from these options during the first semester of 6th grade.
My Project
The majority of students sit at a desk all day. Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to select the type of seating that works best for them on any given day. One day a student might work best by standing the next day a student might work better by sitting on the floor. Students learn in a variety of ways and that includes how they sit in my classroom.
Flexible seating allows student to choose where they work best.
Items included in this project will give students a variety of choices. By funding this project, students will gain the option of bungee chairs, floor disks, and bar stools. Another option is sitting on a compass area rug. This items is helpful both as a fun place to sit and a learning tool in the classroom.
