This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve Gifted and Talented students in a highly diverse, low-income district. The students come from many different backgrounds and a majority of our students speak a second language. Our students come from supportive families who want the best for their kids but often do not have the resources they need to assist them. These students are focused and excited to learn.

Gifted students are tomorrow's leaders, inventors, problem-solvers, and creators!

Providing them with opportunities to think critically and collaborate is essential for their success while providing them more opportunities to be more college and career ready!

My Project

Middle School Fashion Institute will combine the history and process of fashion design and marketing with the arts and economics. Students will study famous movements in fashion design with an emphasis on accessories. Students will then study the current market and look to identify trends in popularity. Then, these students will utilize the donated supplies to create and sell their pieces utilizing state economics standards. By turning a profit on our goods and services, my students will learn valuable economic principles while supplying our classroom with resources to carry on and grow their business. This project-based learning approach will effectively teach my students basic economics and art principles while enhancing their love of learning.
