My school is a Title I school, which means the neighborhood has students that are economically disadvantaged. Despite their surroundings, my students are eager to learn. They know that an education can change their lives and their situations. I pride myself on being able to reach all students and make a difference in their lives.
Students inside of my classroom get a chance to connect mathematics to the real world, work on hands-on activities, and create artifacts that will aid them in their future.
Happy New Year! We are in the 2nd month of the year, and we are in need of some classroom supplies to finish off the year. I am asking for help to give my students permanent markers, pencils, colored paper, file folders, Post-it notes, notebook paper, and caddies to organize supplies.
File folders are used as data folders for all students and to keep their artifacts inside.
Colored paper will be used for their interactive notebooks. Pencils and notebook paper have to be restocked. I am buying pencils every 2 weeks because students do not have their own supplies. I do not want the lack of supplies to get in the way of their learning. Post-it notes are used as a fun way to see what the students know or have learned. Graphing paper will be used in the Geometry unit.
