My students are largely English language learners, from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. Students at my school are exposed to many different activities and learning situations, as we believe that student-led learning based in inquiry is best. Our students are inquisitive and love to get "up to their elbows" in fun learning projects, especially music and art! We offer art, music, and theater instruction. We are so fortunate to have an administration that supports the arts; but whatever I can do to help save the district money is always appreciated.
My Project
We have completed a lot of creative projects here at my school, and my markers and pencils are starting to show the wear and tear. Markers start to dry out, pencils get sharpened down to nubs...it just shows how much fun we've been having in art class!
Having some new markers and pencils will get us through the rest of this school year in style.
Currently in 6th grade, we are doing a unit called Art of Ancient Civilizations, which goes with their social studies curriculum. My students are having fun creating cave drawings, Egyptian hieroglyphs, and Greek theater masks. Your help will ensure we can continue making beautiful art.
