Help me give my students new art class necessities such as: brushes, rulers, oil pastels, erasers, and construction paper. We are just warming up after the last tumultuous year and hope that extra supplies will help us keep our momentum.
Our art students are on the cusp of entering the adult world and are eager to explore all of their options both in higher education as well as the workforce.
While fulfilling the National Art Standards, we focus the curriculum on skills and art mediums that the students can use to support themselves and make a career in their community.
Our students love every opportunity to get their hands dirty, use real materials, and put away their digital devices.
Our community lacks the resources of our resort neighbors. Families here depend on their school to provide cultural opportunities. Our town geographically lies too far for students to travel to classes and many of our students lack the finances to supply even basic school supplies.
Lack of support doesn’t stop our students from looking to the future and yearning to better themselves by learning new things and gaining new experiences.
My Project
We are nearly half way through the school year and our art room supplies need to be refreshed.
So far this year we have used a lot of our art supplies, and we are running low on basics.
I have requested brushes, rulers, oil pastels, erasers, and construction paper.
This time of year is difficult for our schools to provide for us since money is generally designated early or late in the school year. A few extra supplies will help us to keep going and not have to stretch our supplies so thin.
Before we know it it will be Spring when other clubs and committees come asking for art stuff, and it is nice to have a few things to share.
