Microscopes: All Things Small and Gross!

Help me give my students these snazzy microscopes so they can see what is growing on their cell phones. Yes! It's gross!

My Project

My brilliant students are in need of working microscopes! These tenth through twelfth grade students are part of the "biomedical pathway" and as they will pursue science in college, it is imperative that they have a solid lab science background with working equipment.

These new microscopes with a 100X oil immersion lens will help students ID and study bacteria.

Students grow their own bacteria, gram stain their samples, look at them in the poorly working microscopes we do have and identify the types, much like it would be done in a hospital lab. We have had to reduce our budget to 25% of normal spending, therefore they are too expensive for us to purchase. We thank you so much for your consideration!
