More than a third of students from low‑income households

My students need a digital microscope to use with the smartboard to enhance science experiments and lessons in the third grade.
Do you remember your favorite science lessons? They probably involved a little more than reading out of an old textbook.
My students are very active and energetic.
They have a great passion for life and their desire to learn is very moldable at this point of their education. My students live in a very rural area of Illinois. The community is made up of mostly farming families.
I am requesting a digital microscope for my classroom. We have our classrooms equipped with smart boards and the digital microscope will really put the smart board to great use. Instead of buying microscopes for the whole class and having students look into them on their own, we can look at for example, moldy bread spores through a microscope together on the smart board and I can highlight and circle items that I would like the class to observe. It is cheaper and better for collaborative learning.
This project is so important to form the excitement for science that is so often missing from elementary age students.
This item will allow me to enhance my lessons for the class and increase their excitement for science and for learning.
