This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The theater students at our high school are a diverse community of learners with a passion to share their love of theater with their local community. Over the past four years they have worked hard to develop a program that is safe and inviting to all, a place where students can truly be themselves. They are a compassionate and dedicated group of students who welcome students of all walks of life as evidence by their program’s richly diverse racial/ethnic makeup as well as the inclusion of students with special needs. My students are committed to one another and to raising the profile of Theater in their community.

My Project

Adding two wireless microphones systems to our theater program will help both our acting students and technical theater students in a number of ways. Our actors will have increased ability to be heard in our 1,000 seat auditorium and feel more confident of having their friends and loved ones hear and understand their performance. Student technicians will have an opportunity to learn about, use, and maintain high quality, contemporary wireless microphone systems, which will aid their understanding of a modern professional sound technician’s responsibilities. The microphones will also help bring Technical Theater and Acting students together through the use and maintenance of the systems.
