Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My athletes are in a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in an urban district. Our school serves free breakfast and lunch for all students. Breakfast is served in the classroom, and students do not switch classrooms much at the younger grades. Most of my students are from Spanish-speaking households.
My students need to be active and moving while learning.
Their learning with technology should be hands-on. Instead of wondering what they could do, it would be great for my students to have the materials to be "can do" people.
My Project
Everyone has heard of computer science and programming but what is it really? I would like to bring programing that actually shows the student results to young students. Using microbits and the online editor students will be able to start coding a basic machine to do things.
Introducing students to complex concepts at a bite size will empower their future learning in computer science.
Students will be able to make basic machines with the microbits and as they excel at coding we will be able to expand using the accessories. The students will use the microbits with the computers to program and as they advance my students will start using python to code the same small computer machine.
