I have the opportunity to work with a great group of students who are eager and excited to learn. Each year, over 1,000 kindergartners through sixth-grade students come through my classroom with a wide range of needs and backgrounds.
Over the course of their seven years at our school, they will work hard to become 21st-century thinkers and problem solvers.
My students are always looking forward to learning new skills and using a variety of tools that can help prepare them for the real world outside of the classroom.
My Project
Just like mathematics and written expression, coding has become a necessary skill that each student will need to understand. With a technology-driven society, knowledge of code will open the door to many amazing opportunities.
With micro:bits, students will understand coding on a deeper level.
They will be used each year at multiple grade levels in order to help students build on simple block coding; micro:bits will also challenge those students who already poses beginning skills and are ready for the next level. Along with the ingenuity of the students and the amazing lesson plans, the possibilities are endless.
This tiny programmable computer will help create new learning experiences for years to come. With the inexpensive cost, students could even purchase one to continue their learning long after they have left my class.
