My Students

Growing up in a small, rural farm community, in southeast Kansas, my students are intelligent, hard-working, and self-motivated. In my 4th grade classroom, we are authors, explorers, scientists, mathematicians, artists, performers, and thinkers. My goal is to help them realize their full potential by challenging their critical thinking and creativity.

Albert Einstein is quoted with saying “creativity is intelligence having fun.” With this in mind, I believe by creating a fun environment for these intelligent kids, their creativity will shine.

In our classroom environment, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning.

My Project

Having headphones with a built-in microphone will allow my students to better utilize the voice recording aspect of Seesaw. Seesaw, a student driven digital portfolio and interactive discussion board, allows interactions from students and parents to be integrated into one online journal. This technology provides another tool to help deepen students' understanding of new class material and enables them to further apply what they have learned. With the microphone closer to their mouths, students will will be able to give clearer responses with less white noise, which will help reduce their level of frustration from having to record multiple times.
