I am very fortunate to have a group so young that are so empathetic and compassionate as well. They never cease to amaze me with their kind words about each other and towards me. I have very few disruptions and discipline issues mainly, I believe, due to their kind little hearts. I want to give back to them in every way possible. It is important to me to be in touch with their families as well. I’d like to send home items that the students are excited about sharing, things that won’t get overlooked or tossed because they are dull. I’d like to create more exciting classroom labels, posters, and rewards.
Children love color...most everybody does! I'm requesting an HP Deskjet color printer and ink cartridges for our classroom.
If I could add color to the parent newsletters going home, the reading incentive bulletins, and the resources within the classroom, I believe they would be noticed, appreciated, and possibly acted upon more effectively, for example, having the ability to highlight an important deadline.
As well, I feel that a brightly colored item within a student’s book bag is less likely to be overlooked than an ordinary black and white page.
Within the classroom, I will be able to color coordinate student folders, centers, and incentive posters. Students could more readily help themselves locate items for use by colored labels.
