I teach in one of the smallest schools in Wisconsin. We have around 120 students preK-12. We live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and we love the outdoors. We snowmobile, 4-wheel, bike, run, walk, hunt, ski, snowshoe, boat, fish and simple play outdoors. My kids are very active outside of school but we are also a very poor community.
We are a big tourist community as well.
My kids would like to have a weight room that looks like other schools. During the cold months, they would like a place to go to get more activity.
My Project
This machine will continue to enhance our school's Weight room that I strive to create. Our weight room is a place that my students really enjoy; they get to see improvements every day. We have a 1000 pound, 800 pound, and a 600 pound club that each student strives to be on. We also have a 225 pound bench club, 300 pound squat club and a 400 pound dead lift club. Every student is thankful that we now have a weight room. Three years ago, we did not have anything and now we have two benches, two squat racks, deadlift station and a dumbbell station. We have total been funded on fundraisers and hopefully in a couple years, we can have something to be proud of.
With the dip station, my students will be able to choose from a variety of exercise stations that will allow them to lift independently at their own pace.
They will also be able to choose lifts that interest them. The best way to increase strength is to lift more, and this station will continue to help my students grow stronger. My students already have shown great strides in physical fitness, and this project will only help enrich their experiences and the importance of the weight room.
