This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the privilege this year, to teach some of the most energetic, creative, talented and ambitious students fifth graders. These students spent the majority of their 3rd grade school year remotely at home. They unfortunately missed out on a lot of the social emotional development that can normally grow and mature during that time. Due to this lack, we have found a greater need to provide support in areas where they are lacking.

In order to combat these effects from the pandemic, this year we have implemented a Mentoring Program gear toward building positive character in our students, with our focus this year on our 5th grade boys and girls.

We have created a curriculum that will encourage our boys and girls to be the best versions of themselves by providing strategies and techniques that will create a better tomorrow.
