Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to express their feelings, thoughts, ideas, and to take risks. I have very high expectations of my students and they always rise to the occasion. In our classroom, students are at a variety of learning levels. My students are eager learners who look forward to learning new concepts and sharing their ideas. They love learning academics, about each other, and themselves.
My Project
Everybody loves to be read to. Do you recall looking forward to your teacher reading aloud to you? Often times, in our class the students ask me to keep reading or they want to know if they are going to get their own copy of the text.
The titles will be used to teach ELA/writing concepts using literature that is of interest to students.
Mentor text make writing real for students and aid struggling writers with fluent and enriched writing. They serve as a model and students love them. The titles I have requested will be used to teach students new crafts and strategies.
