Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students have little to no internet service which has limited their ability to engage in school or with friends. This has caused major concerns for me, because many have reported feelings of isolation, despair, and sadness but I can't physically see them.
My Project
As the days have turned into weeks and the weeks into months, it has become abundantly clear that my students are in need of mental health support. Many of them have spoken of feelings of hopelessness, depression, low motivation and grief.
The materials that I have requested will be used to do individual and group counseling sessions with my students.
As a result of the virus I am home; which limits my privacy, so the noise cancellation device and pen mouse will service to reduce breach of privacy when speaking to students.
