Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students in a suburb of Los Angeles are currently the start of a Mental Health Pathway at my high school. They have been working all year in either AP Psychology and/or Sociology class plus members of a mental health club called NAMI on campus!

Our Mental Health Pathway is evolving into a true pathway and we would like to honor those students that are committed to accomplishing this goal.

The students that are in this program are giving humans that are reaching out to the community to educate and de-stigmatize mental illnesses and mental challenges.

My Project

At my high school, we have a mental health pathway program that students upon completion will be awarded a mental health pathway certificate and honor cord. The pathway includes service hours with a mental health club on campus, course work related to mental health (including Sociology and AP Psychology) and certification of Youth Mental Health First Aid via training.

Upon completion, I would like to award a certificate of completion and honor cord for graduation.

At graduation, our school will recognize these graduates at a Senior Honor Ceremony, plus being able to wear the lime cord at graduation that will show their accomplishment publicly.
