Our school is comprised of our city’s most talented young people, dedicated teachers, and staff. We take great pride in the rigor of our curriculum, the quality of our instruction, and the performance of our students. Our students are serious scholars who constantly strive for success. Their determination ensures that they are the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow.
To our students, failure is not an option; it is just another obstacle waiting to be overcome.
They believe with hard work and perseverance anything is achievable. They are excited to be in school and look forward to each day's encounters.
My students enjoy being challenged and love challenging their teachers. They not only question everything, they seek out and find the answers.
Our students, for lack of a better word, are exceptional. While our students are serious scholars they are very involved in all aspects of school. They belong to various clubs in the school, are involved in athletics, and tap into the creative minds through the arts. They are on their way to becoming well-rounded and productive members of society.
The stigma of mental illness is still very real in today's society. It is imperative that we give our young people the tools needed to understand and cope with the struggles of the day to day world, now add in the complications of mental illness and the tools are critical.
With the addition of these books to the library our students will have the opportunity to read, discover, and learn about how various mental illnesses affect the lives of those who suffer as well as their family and friends.
These books will also allow our students to see that there are viable treatment opportunities and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
