I teach a multicultural school of explorers who have a desire to learning using technology. Students visit my technology lab every 4 days for forty-five minutes. My future leaders love to use a variety of technology while gaining skills and knowledge from coding to creativity. I love each student since they all bring a diversity of talent and smiles when they enter school. Students still need to learn the basics from keyboarding to holding a camera, with photography growing its an important aspect for all students to learn.
My Project
Many students at my school have never held a camera. I host a yearbook club for grades 3-5 to allow students the ability to capture smiles in a professional manner. Students have improved their self-esteem and awareness from discovering a talent they never knew they had. I recently had 10 cameras donated allowing each student in the club to learn a life learning skill. The cameras did not come with memory cards. Students will be able to remove the memory card from camera to laptop to view their hidden talents. Students will take photos around the school, at field trips, and exploring learning with digital photography.
