Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our elementary school has a Spanish Immersion program where students spend half the day in English and the other half of the day in Spanish.
I have 56 fourth graders that come to school every day eager to learn Spanish as their second language.
Not only are they learning how to speak, read and write in Spanish, but they're also learning science in Spanish. I love coming to school every day and seeing their motivation, hard work and determination as they learn new concepts and become confident in their abilities.
My Project
These biographies will help my students learn valuable lessons about life's trials. Reading about the real life stories of individuals can influence, motivate and provide encouragement. As they read and learn about the challenges that others have overcome, they can connect it to their own lives.
Learning from real life experiences of others will be a great tool to help my students grow into successful, contributing members of society.
They will learning from life stories of historical people. These stories can teach: essential life skills, how to handle failures, take personal responsibility and accountability for choices and actions. They will develop a love of learning!
