This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am teacher my second year of 2nd grade and I have a beautiful group of students. I am excited to continue giving my students a great and divers library environment full of amazing books. A place where they can read about student that don't look like them. I want to provide my students with a classroom library where they desire to be. A place for them to explore and develop. I saw the excitement that my students last year displayed when they were able to read genres that enjoyed. My current group of students enjoy poetry, which I would love to add more books on poetry to our library. I want to create and exciting experience with my students around reading.
I would love to provide my students with bigger books and chapter books they can read.
I am interested in providing different genres and leveled books, allowing students to have choices. My students are currently asking for the more popular books for young readers. I need a little help providing those more popular books and I believe DonorsChoose can help me give my students a bigger and better selection that will help meet their needs.
My Project
These books will provide additional support in our classroom. These chapter books will allow students to read with confidence.
Our new sets of books will meet the needs of all reading levels, from the lower emerging readers to the more advanced chapter book readers.
These books will help meet the needs of all my students where they are and support them for where they are going. During reading I look forward to seeing more students engaged with their "chapter" books.
My students of color will especially enjoy the books from this order. These books will allow students to see individuals who look like them. They will be able to read about facts they can relate to.
