Help me give my students the supplemental calories they need for school, activities, and sports. Granola bars and water are great ways to keep kids going until their next meal.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are high energy with smiles and plentiful jokes, despite their circumstances. They come from low socioeconomic families where many don't get breakfast or dinner.
About 95% of my students are Hispanic and live in cramped, outdated homes where many necessities are deemed luxury.
Because of this, many students remain at school for extra-curricular activities and sports. For some students, lunch at school is their only meal. This means staying for activities and sports has them going 5-7 hours without eating. Granola bars, water, and fruit juice is a great way to supplement the calories students need to keep going until their next meal.
Research has shown that when children are hungry, they pay less attention at school and their overall learning is negatively affected. The small gesture of a granola bar and a juice box can mean the difference between their continued struggle and their success in school.
