Many of our graduating seniors are excited about their future and the opportunities that have been put before them. However, for a few of our students, a lack of family and funding support may have dampened the desire to go to college.
Four such students have the opportunity to go to college but are afraid that they will not have the financial support to fulfill their dreams.
These students do not own a laptop and are in desperate need of getting one to make furthering their education a reality. They are an exceptional group of students and most will be the first in their family to advance their education beyond high school. One student wants to major in business and go into international business, where he can use his knowledge of English and Spanish. One has a dream to be a teacher so she can inspire other young people from disadvantaged families to end cycles of poverty. Another wants to major in accounting and open her own CPA firm. They have dreams and a laptop should not stand in their way.
My Project
These deserving seniors plan to go to college where they will be first generation college students. Their families simply cannot give them the financial security they need to get everything they need to be successful. A laptop will be a major benefit as they prepare for their next steps, especially considering the face of education has shifted to distance learning.
Without reliable laptops, they may not have what they need to be successful from day one.
The project will provide them with the computer they deserve and the confidence to go forward with meeting their educational goals.
This group of seniors hold so much promise and have big dreams. We want to give them a head start for success!
