My students need Standard of Excellence method books. These books contain the music we will learn. Without the books, students won't be able to learn to read music and won't have anything to play.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and are excited about making new sounds as instrumentalists. As beginning players, they are always learning something new, which keeps them engaged with music-making. They radiate excitement and joy, working hard to prepare a performance for their friends and family to enjoy. One of my students says he enjoys band class because he can "play loud and learn new notes". My students perform four times each year, twice for school assemblies and twice for after school concerts.
My Project
Having a class set of books will afford my students the opportunity to learn how to read music. The students will learn to read notes and rhythms, giving them opportunities to continue as life-long musicians. I am asking for a class set of Standard of Excellence books for each of the three schools at which I teach to help toward this end. Reading notated music is an important standard in our curriculum and can help musicians greatly as they progress to the next level. We cannot accomplish our goal without these method books. I appreciate your support in helping us learn to read music.
