My Students

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to travel around the world and visit other classrooms to learn about their culture? To be able to interact with other teenagers from across the country or even other countries?

Many of my students will never travel beyond our county's border much less to another country.

Most will never have the financial resources to undertake such a journey without the assistance of technology. In their minds, events happening elsewhere in the world are to just some random people and not someone that they know.

My Project

I want to offer my students the opportunity to make friends in far way places, to see a different culture up close and personal. The addition of a high resolution webcam to our classroom will allow us to interact with classrooms around the world. We will be able to explore different cultures on a personal level instead of just looking at words and pictures in books.

Doesn't every child deserve the chance to learn about the world and learn to be a global citizen?

Books can only take us so far and then we need be able to offer students an opportunity to have experiences with real people in real time in real life.
