My students are bright and positive. They are constantly looking for ways to grow and learn new things. They enter my classroom each morning with boundless energy and inquisitive minds. As we rotate through small group learning, they do their best at each center they approach and use problem-solving skills throughout their day. They consistently inspire me to come up with new ways to enhance their learning.
Many of my students come from low SES families and have a hard time continuing their learning outside of our school.
However, they still show up each day willing to do their best learning. Others have very involved families who volunteer at our small school on a regular basis. No matter their backgrounds, they have many different learning styles and needs, and I try my best to meet those needs each day.
Our classroom environment greatly impacts the learning of each student, so we work on flexible seating arrangements, exciting assignments, and learning games to keep everyone on task and engaged.
My Project
Our students learn at a variety of different levels in a variety of different ways. Most of our day is spent in small groups so that instruction can be delivered at each student's educational and skill level. We rotate through many centers as each group gets individualized time with the teacher. During those rotations, we need engaging and rigorous ways to practice learned skills, both at centers, and during our teacher time.
These learning materials will help us learn in an engaging way that is at our instructional level.
These games and reading skill builders allow for differentiation to help meet the needs of diverse learners while they practice and fine-tune foundational skills in reading and writing. We quickly grow tired of our teacher-created resources, and could really use some new and exciting ways to learn from each other and the material in small groups.
