We are a public Montessori school in downtown Indianapolis.
Our Montessori students in 6th & 7th grade are very curious about the world around them.
Most of our students have been together for all of their school aged years.
They are very social individuals who share their knowledge and always like to learn more. Their minds are like sponges, and they want to soak up as much information as they can. They like discussing different issues in the world around them.
My Project
My students will be doing a unit where they are "doctors". Students will be learning about vital signs and the nervous system. One of the activities, students will learn how to measure their vital signs. Students will analyze data of patient vital signs and symptoms, so they can tell what might be happening in the human body. Students will then use all the data to craft conclusions supported by evidence.
Another activity the students will be doing is dissecting sheep brains.
They will learn about the nervous system. My students will need the necessary protective gear for when they do the dissection part of the unit.
