My students need your assistance! Our school is a high-poverty, inner city, Title 1 funded school whose students have limited access to technology. In other words, if it is not provided by the school, children will not have the opportunity to engage in computers.
We have 98% of our students living in poverty, and our students need your help.
Our students work hard to meet the same standards every school in the state has, regardless of poverty level. It is important that our students are constantly connected to technology. Our students do not have access to computers at home.
The only access our students have to computers is at school, and these students are so fascinated by technology. It is important that children grow in a technology world, as most of our society is surrounded by it. We are in need of iPads and other resources to continue to enrich the minds of children in the community. These iPads will be used to connect our students to the technology world we are living in.
My Project
Our school is in desperate need of computers. Our students need access to computers in the classroom. We are asking for tablets because of their versatility and easy mobilization. These tablets will be used in the library and will be used in the classroom for group work. Our students have reached amazing goals in the Scholastic Reading Counts points system. We have tripled our points from last year. Currently we have 24,000 points and our goal for the entire year is 30,000 points! This time last year, we had only 6,500 points. This is amazing! I would like to use these tablets as a reward for my students. We will be able to use them to continue taking Reading Counts tests.
We are also asking for other resources that apply to the library and technology needs such as converters, chargers, and printer ink. Finally, we are in need of 1st grade & Kindergarten leveled books for the library. This is the most common level of books we have that is checked out in the library.
By receiving these resources our students will be able to complete educational programs and class projects.
Students will be able to connect to technology and grow as our society is now expected to. The books we have requested will replenish our low variety of beginning reader books in the library collection. Our students are very special in that they struggle at home and still meet the state average in the classroom. Thank you for considering our school for a donation.
