Help me give my students the tools they need to improve their handwriting and ability to put the written word down on paper, as well as read information that is not on plain, white paper.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students range from kindergarten through fifth grade, and most have fallen below grade level in one or more subjects. They become "my kids" and often I will work with the same student for many years, as they come to the resource room for extra help in several academic areas. In order to receive my services on a regular basis, each student must have an IEP designating my support. I have opened my classroom for students across the campus who may need a little extra help, or manage a behavior.
Many of the behaviors that they exhibit come from sensory issues that are difficult for them to explain to adults, so I find myself advocating for them across the school campus.
My students have not lost the drive to learn, regardless of the difficulties they are experiencing in the general education classroom.
I applaud even small gains that each student makes so they can experience as many positive kudos throughout the school day. I adore my students so I often give up my recess and lunchtime in order to provide that little extra help to help them master a skill.
My Project
Many of my students have difficulty holding pencils/crayons properly. They require different styles of intervention depending on their disability. The disabilities range from dyslexia to OT issues requiring relearning the proper way to hold a writing tool and using it correctly. The colored paper makes it easier for students with dyslexia to focus on the printed word.
Dyslexia affects areas such as reading and writing and requires interventions at an early age.
These tools are not provided but are much needed for assisting my students. Different pencils, crayons, grips, and paper can make a world of difference! They are motivated and willing to learn!
