I would like to have some high quality measuring tools for my 4th grade students to use in math and science. Therefore, I would like to have 4 Ohaus Triple Beam Balances for my students. Presently, students are using plastic pan scale balances that only crudely measure the mass of objects to the nearest gram. Students in fourth grade learn decimals and need to measure materials more accurately in their science and math classes. The Ohaus Triple Beam Balances provide 0.1g to 610 gram readings without the use of extra weights. They are durable, dependable, and more accurate than plastic pan balances. I work at a school in which 85% of the population receives free/reduced lunches. Students come from low-income families and are limited in the experiences which they receive. All of my 44 students (two classes of math and science students) will use and benefit from these balances. I want my students to have the best materials as they learn math and science skills. Don't we want all students to measure up in math and science? After all, they are our future leaders. All students deserve the best!
