My Students

Approximately 70% of our students are in poverty. We need to find resources to help supply tape measures to educate our wonderful students.

I have 9-12th grade girls and boys from level one to honor woods.

I love how my students put effort towards learning hands on skills. Right now, we are learning how to make stools, shelves, wall-mounted cabinets with raise panel doors, end tables, tapered leg tables and also hunting blinds! My students are totally awesome!

My Project

Getting new tape measures will allow each student to have a tape measure at there disposal. Each student will create their own project learning to read tape measures correctly which will also teach and reinforce how to use fractions.

Our wood classes are based on project-based learning where students can apply there newly learn skills on measurements and work at there own individual pace.

Getting new tape measures for my classroom will help with teaching mastery learning for measurements. Our students are working from blueprints which they have to apply those measurements to the material.
