This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income school district, I see my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative, engaging and meaningful learning experiences this school year.
My students work very hard each day.
They love praise and rewards for their efforts, progress and good behavior. We have several systems in place in our classroom for the students to earn rewards.
My Project
My students work so hard and deserve to be rewarded for their hard work. They also crave the attention of getting praise and prizes as rewards.
Rewards like colorful pencils, pads, crayons and toys are a way to motivate these students and show them their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
The wipes will be used for the students to clean up after doing any crafts. The tissues are greatly needed for all of our little, runny noses that come to school all winter.
My students sometimes ask for an extra prize to take home to a sibling, which we often do. We are constantly refilling our treasure chest with stickers, toys, prizes, and snacks. They love seeing the treasure chest and seeing all the new rewards!
