The students that enter my classroom each day are all unique in their own special way.
Their lives are all very different from one another but when they enter my classroom we are one big family.
My students jump at any chances they get in the classroom to visit and play with the peers. My students have a love for building, creating, and moving. They are greeted each morning at the classroom door with a welcoming smile and then they are off to begin their learning journey. The first minutes of the day consist of taking care of morning jobs and preparing for the day. Once these jobs are completed, the engagement and excitement begins with hands on morning tubs which fit my students perfectly because they love building, creating, drawing and moving.
My Project
Morning tubs are used to start our day and is something very new to my students. They have had the opportunity to explore and learn about morning tubs for the past month. Morning tubs have impacted our classroom in a positive way. Students don’t want to waste any time making lunch choices, putting away their folders, or sharpening their pencils because they know their time is already limited.
Morning tubs have minimized our morning routine and made our morning transition time run much more smoothly along with allowing time for collaborative learning and time to socialize.
I started morning tubs with my students in December and realized that I just don't have enough activities or tools to adequately fill my morning tubs with items that interest my students.
With your donation, my students will have the opportunity to explore, create and communicate while engaging in guided play.
This is just the beginning for my students love of learning and school, but I’m excited to see how morning tubs continue to transform my 2nd classroom in the next weeks and months.
